Sony Ericsson Logo ‘Refreshed’ Before New Advertising Campaign
Sony Ericsson have recently been searching for a way to refresh their brand logo, it appears now that they have done just that. Since 2001 when Sony and Ericsson joined forces, the company logo has been kept totally the same. It has always been the green liquid like center wrapped in a silver casing, until now.
Although the actual business logo design isn’t being modified, the colours of the liquid like center are being changed. What they are going to do is change the liquid center of the logo in an attempt to refresh the look of the brand. They have completed creating a bunch of logo examples using a series of other colours like blue, brown, pink and purple. Currently, they haven’t announced any costs of the new logo designs, as I assume they used a professional logo designer to do the job.
This news comes as Sony Ericsson want to try and update their advertising look prior to the release of their ‘biggest ever’ marketing campaign. The 8 million pound advertising campaign will be promoting their new phone models, the Satio, Yari and Aino. It also includes the release of their PlayNow music and film download service that they will be running.
The last big advertising campaign that the company did was back in 2006 where they replaced the heart symbol with the Sony Ericsson logo in different sentences. This campaign also sparked the use of vibrant colours to help the Sony Ericsson brand stand out from other mobile phone manufacturers.
Alongside this new campaign, they will also be running a competition aimed at football fans. Once their marketing campaign begins next month, if you buy one of the Aino, Satio or Yari phones, you will have the chance to win tickets to the World Cup next year in South Africa.
